Safeguarding is a crucial part of the job for all pharmacy team members, which is why CPPE has launched a new e-assessment on the subject
CPPE is pleased to announce the launch of the latest version of the Safeguarding children and vulnerable adults: Level 2 e-assessment.
Safeguarding children and vulnerable adults is the responsibility of all healthcare professionals that come into contact with these patient groups. Each member of the pharmacy team has a professional responsibility to ensure that the most vulnerable individuals in society are not subject to abuse.
Based on feedback from learners, the new version of the Safeguarding children and vulnerable adults: Level 2 e-assessment has been streamlined, reducing it from 30 questions to 20, in order to support learners wishing to refresh their assessment attempts, especially in relation to Declaration of Competence and the new Pharmacy Quality Scheme.
This e-assessment is linked with the CPPE Safeguarding children and vulnerable adults – a guide for the pharmacy team e-learning and assesses pharmacy professionals on the learning objectives within that programme. These learning objectives include being able to describe different types of abuse, knowing how to recognise the potential signs of abuse and knowing the most appropriate course of action to take if abuse or neglect are suspected.
Our Safeguarding children and vulnerable adults – a guide for the pharmacy team e-learning programme covers exactly the same content as before:
- Section 1 – legislation, how to recognise different types of abuse and the safeguarding responsibilities of pharmacy professionals
- Section 2 – actions to take if you suspect abuse or neglect and the ability to apply the learning to practice situations.
Pharmacy professionals who have successfully completed the previous assessment do not need to repeat the assessment until two years after their previous successful completion.
Anyone who is partway through the previous assessment will receive a message to inform them about the new assessment, and will be given the choice to either carry on with the old format assessment or start again on the new more streamlined version.
