Recognition of Excellence 2019
Liberty Crowe
Liberty Crowe is a relative newcomer to pharmacy, starting at Boots UK in Llandudno, Conwy less than two years ago
But her pharmacist, Claire Brooks, calls her “one of the most switched-on, efficient dispensers I have ever worked with” and is also in awe of her quick learning of the OTC side of the business, nominating her for the Counter Intelligence Award.
A crucial element when working in a pharmacy is knowing when to refer, and this is something that Liberty does appropriately and intuitively. A prime example was a customer requesting an indigestion remedy who Liberty had concerns about. She called on the pharmacist who referred the customer on for urgent medical advice, which resulted in a diagnosis of internal bleeding.
The judges awarded Liberty with a highly commended in the category, with pharmacy technician Tess Fenn explaining: “Her exemplary ability to understand and pick up on symptoms has had amazing results and she is a real asset to community pharmacy.” Fellow judge and Right Medicine Pharmacy chief operating officer Richard Stephenson was succinct, saying: “Liberty sure knows her stuff!”
