Stress in April

This month we're focusing on stress

According to the Stress Management Society, stress and poor mental health is one of the biggest public health challenges faced in the UK. Held every April since 1992, Stress Awareness Month, raises awareness of the causes and cures for our modern-day stress epidemic.

According to the charity, there are many things pharmacy teams can do to get involved in Stress Awareness Month, such as:

  • Talk about Stress and its effects with friends, family, customers and colleagues
  • Share your own coping mechanisms
  • Make sure you treat those who are stressed and anxious calmly and with respect
  • Look after yourself, take time out of your day to relax or do something that you enjoy.

The Stress Management Society are also encouraging everyone to take part in the 30 day Challenge for April. Each day, individuals should pick one action each for their Physical, Mental and Emotional wellbeing. The challenge aims to maximise your chances of turning useful knowledge and techniques into positive behavioural change.
