Hypertension: part five

Welcome to the fifth module in our series looking at hypertension. It is based on the Centre for Pharmacy Postgraduate Education (CPPE) Hypertension Focal Point e-learning programme, and is designed to give pharmacy technicians an overview and better understanding of this area of practice.

Learning objectives

After reading this module, pharmacy technicians will: 

• Understand that home blood pressure monitors can help patients to lower their blood pressure
• Know where to access resources that can support people to self-monitor their blood pressure
• Understand why dehydration poses a risk to patients taking antihypertensive medicines.
