Welcome to the first module in our series looking at renal therapeutics. It is based on the Centre for Pharmacy Postgraduate Education (CPPE) e-course on the the Fundamentals of renal therapeutics, and is designed to give pharmacy technicians an overview and better understanding of this area of practice.

After reading this module you will be able to:

  • Understand the types of renal impairment
  • Be aware of patients at risk of kidney decline
  • Have an understanding of the risk factors for chronic kidney disease and acute kidney injury.
