Hello lovely readers! I’m writing my column to you this month from my own sick bed as I have been taken down by a rather nasty ear infection. I’d like to say a massive thank you to all the healthcare staff that have supported me through the week, especially the pharmacy staff members I have spoken to. But also, the team that has rallied together to bring you this issue – it really takes a village!
On that note, we have now closed our entries and nominations for the Recognition of Excellence (RoE) Awards 2024. As ever, getting to speak to pharmacy staff on the frontline remains one of my favourite aspects of my role here at Training Matters. I’ve laughed, I’ve cried and most importantly I’ve been struck by the dedication, humbleness and professionalism of every single person nominated.
Pharmacy isn’t a job, it’s a lifestyle – and this is shown through the many ways staff are integral and interwoven into the very fabric of their communities and patients’ lives. The nominees I have spoken to have gone above and beyond their basic job title every single time – unbegrudgingly – not all heroes wear capes, as they say. I can’t wait to share all of these wonderful stories with you and hear what our RoE judges think too. Much more on that very soon...
Pharmacy First continues to be the focus for many of you. For April we bring you more learning including the next module in our own Pharmacy First series, written specifically for the whole team. Do let us know if you are finding these modules useful.
