Recognition of Excellence 2020
Anisa Tai
Mum to three children aged 16, 13 and 10, Anisa works from 9.30am until 3pm at Vision Pharmacy, goes home to make dinner and returns to the pharmacy until 7.30pm
The pharmacy on Leicester’s Narborough Road is open until midnight, seven days a week, and it’s certainly busy. “My job involves printing ETP tokens, dispensing medicines, preparing the dosette boxes for community patients and care homes, getting deliveries ready for the driver and making sure the schedule is ready, taking calls for urgent medicines if a GP contacts us, helping new starters in the pharmacy and stock control – which requires ringing round suppliers and wholesalers, getting the best prices and delivery times and also alternative brands if needs be,” says supervisor Anisa. Relishing these responsibilities, she says she tries “to set an example and show a good skill set to follow”.
In nominating her for the Team Leader Award, Vision Pharmacy director and superintendent pharmacist Sohail Amjed said: “Put simply, Anisa is running the show. She is very courteous, very dependable and highly liked equally by fellow team members and customers.”
RoE judge and senior manager professional learning and development at Walgreens Boots Alliance Richard Dunne says: “Anisa shows how a true leader just gets on and does. She brings the team with her on the journey and supports them.” Anisa was awarded highly commended in the Team Leader category.
