Recognition of Excellence 2020
Rosie Pettitt
Apprentice dispensing assistant Rosie is a real tech advocate. “Technology is growing all around us,” she says. “So many people use the internet now and it is so important and beneficial for them if we combine all of our pharmacy information online and engage with them together”
As a close-knit team, the Good Life Pharmacy staff work together to think of tech-based ideas that will benefit the pharmacy and its customers in Hatton, Derbyshire. “We provide a lot of clear information and support to customers, especially via Facebook,” Rosie says.
In nominating Rosie for the Technology Champion category, Good Life Pharmacy’s superintendent pharmacist Lindsey Fairbrother said Covid-19 has made the team think even more widely about how to use technology and Rosie has fully embraced this. But looking forward to when the virus has blown over, Rosie said the pharmacy would like to introduce an iPad in the main shop. She says: “We want it to be for all customers, helping to improve their health and wellbeing awareness and stepping up our support into the future.”
This approach drew praise from the RoE judges, with Mike Holden, associate director, Pharmacy Complete, saying: “Utilising technology to enhance healthy conversations with patients is an excellent initiative that should be embraced by all.” Rosie recieved highly commended for the Technology Champion category.
