No limits

Editor's comment April 2022.

Hello lovely readers! It is an absolute pleasure for me to return to Training Matters magazine as Editor. I am especially excited to

be back in time to read through all the fantastic nominations we have had for the Recognition of Excellence (RoE) Awards 2022. The RoE awards continue to be something very close to my heart and I couldn’t be more impressed with the ongoing dedication, humbleness, and hard work shown by community pharmacy support staff across the UK, truly thank you. And I can’t wait to share their stories with you too.

This month Millie and I travelled to Birmingham to attend the Association of Pharmacy Technicians UK (APTUK) annual Celebration Conference and awards to hear about the ongoing development of the technician profession. You can read our full report of the events right here and be sure to take a look at our Technician Matters section to hear from the newly appointed APTUK president, Claire Steele.

The conference really opened my eyes to the diversity of work pharmacy technicians are doing across sectors, such as within the ambulance service and even in developing a sustainable health partnership collaboration in a global health crisis. My takeaway from the day was, don’t let yourself be put in a box – there are no limits to what you can do.
